SOCIAL MEDIA In developer and marketing circles, Facebook Applications are seen as a bit of a holy grail - how to access potentially 200 million eyeballs, a lot of info about them, and have people virally promote your application. If you can tie this in with brand engagement, you're laughing. In user-land, Apps are much more maligned, and when it turned out the company behind a prolific "Quiz" app spamming the News Feed has been funded by Facebook, you've got to wonder whether we're on the cusp of a rebellion, and whether there's really a future for Apps in Facebook at all?
